We are working on a new practice date for September.  Our next performance is September 29th at Art at the Point!

Please keep an eye on the schedule below for practice & performance dates!

Shooting Diamond Hoopers News

Hello Hoopers! A couple of things for the troupe...:)
  • First we had practice on Sunday May 20th and hopefully everyone is staying up to date with the practice schedule on the website.  We ran through some of the showcase routine and worked on skill sets.
  • Second, tee shirts came in and the older girls shirts are fine but for the younger kids they accidentally printed them on very large tee shirts.  Miss Sue called the company and they are re-doing the shirts and will be here on Friday, May 25th.  They were super great about it.
  • Third, there is a Memorial Day Parade in Middletown this Saturday May 26th.  It's a small town type parade and all we would be doing is walking and hooping in it.  It's starting at Middletown Park off of Koblentz Road and we would need to be there at 10:00am. If you are in town and able to be in the parade please email back and let us know.  This will be just a fun time and I heard there is free ice cream at the end.
  • Fourth, It might be good to know what nights everyone is available for additional practices before June 2nd's First Saturday.  When you email back please indicate what days work for you because we feel it would be important to get some more practice in.
  • Fifth and final thing...:)  We would like to get a count of who will be able to participate in the June 2nd First Saturday event in Frederick (starts at 5pm).  Please let us know if you are able to make it.
Until the next practice please keep working on what you learned at practices so that you feel comfortable with your hooping.   We really look forward to seeing you at the next practice!

That's about it for now!
Happy Hooping!

Shooting Diamond Hoopers Guidelines:

Picture
  • Encourage Teamwork by helping each other at practice.  If one person picks up a move a bit quicker than another then we need to positively encourage and help our team member while they are learning.  They may be the ones helping you when you have difficulty with a move.
  • Respect your Hoop by keeping it out of a hot car or sun, not “walking the dog” with it (rolling it across the floor so it comes back to you or just rolling it ingeneral), or allowing people to pull and bend it.  Suggestion: Ask your parents if you can hang your hoop up in your room with their help.  A couple of hangers on a wall or ceiling make a great out of the way place for your hoop and your  hoop can become a part of your room decoration when not in use.
  • Respect other people’s hoops
  • Use only one hoop at a time (unless you are specifically being taught multiple hooping with special hoops)
  • Always be aware of hoop space because you could hurt yourself, another person or their hoop if you get too close.
