Please support Sophie and Madigan's Playground!  As a local to the Frederick County area this story of this beautiful family hit hard when this tragedy happened.  Sophie and Madigan's Playground is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization created to honor the lives of Sophie and Madigan Lillard, who died at ages 6 and 3 as a result of a horrific house fire that occurred on January 31, 2013.
The mission of Sophie and Madigan's Playground is to honor the lives of Sophie and Madigan Lillard by building a memorial playground and providing opportunities for children and their families to play, learn, and create lifelong memories together, and in ways that reflect the beautiful personalities and spirits of these two sisters. Please support the Lakota Waldorf School Having been through Pine Ridge twice in my life I know how crucial this school is to the people and children on this reservation. This school is creating a place for the children to learn their own language, to stay deeply connected with their beautiful culture and to create a safe place to learn and grow in the best way.  They are looking for donations to purchase school buses for the children of Wounded Knee, Manderson and Porcupine Reservations.  You can click here to support them today.  Donations can be made tax deductible so please ask if needed!  Thank you for your support ahead of time!

World Central Kitchen for Ukraine

On February 24, Russia launched a large-scale attack on neighboring Ukraine, invading the country on several fronts. As a result, millions of families have fled their homes in search of safety. WCK initially set up meal distribution sites at border crossings for people fleeing. We then quickly expanded to serve fresh meals prepared by local restaurants across Ukraine.

Now, WCK teams are focused on getting both fresh meals and food kits that can sustain families for several days to the most vulnerable residents in the eastern part of the country. We are reaching recently liberated cities as well as getting meals to people displaced by the attacks.
