Back in October Soolah and her friend Jodi spent 5 hours cleaning up a section near the Falls Creek waterfall where people have been dumping trash over the guard rail. They recycled a majority of the things that they cleaned up including computer and tv monitors, computer key boards, computers, glass, cans, metal, paint cans, tires and more. They were able to recycle most of what they collected with only 8 bags of actual trash. This time we are heading back down to clean up another section of the same area and we need more help to tackle the amount of trash, plastic bottles, cans, metal, tires and more. With the help of Washington County Government are cleaning up the graffiti on the rocks around the waterfall. SSL Hours Available!! If you are a student you can get SSL Hours for this Clean Up! We are working with Boonsboro High School and Smithsburg High School so students can get their SSL hours for Graduation! If you would like your school to participate please let us know and we can add your school to our list! Bring your SSL Hours Card and once you are done volunteering we can sign the card for you! |

April 4th (Rain Date April 11th) Clean Up Target Area
You can see that the area has some steep hills!
We will need people at the bottom of the hill and then up at the top to help get things up to the road!
We will also need sorters for recycling of plastic, bottles, glass, metal, and tires from actual trash!
Please be sure that you are up to date on your Tetnus Shots too please!
What to Bring:
There are a lot of random items including glass and metal so safety is crucial for this work.
What to Wear:
You will be in the woods so please be mindful of your needs!
We hope to make a difference in helping to keep the area clean, wildlife safe, our land and water clean, native plants & trees a healthy place to establish as part of our local ecosystem and make a positive impact for our community and world!! To help out just show up on Buena Vista Road between 10 am & 4 pm and put in a few hours, or help the whole day, cleaning up a very beautiful area!

- Make sure you bring a water bottle & any snacks you need to help stay hydrated & keep your energy going!
